Design and Fabrication of Dual Frequency Ebg Antenna

چکیده

The increasing use of wireless communication systems, demands antennas for different systems and standards, with properties like broadband, compact, multiple resonant frequencies. The previous chapter discussed the analysis and fabrication of two single frequency EBG antennas. This chapter deals with the design and fabrication of a dual frequency EBG antenna. The bandwidth improvement of a compact dual-band slot antenna for 1.54/ 1.83 GHz cellular applications, using a spiral-like Electromagnetic BandGap structure is presented. In wireless communications, for different systems and standards different frequency bands are allocated, two of which are the Global Positioning System (GPS, 1.575 GHz Band and the GSM, 1.8 GHz Band and PCS,1.85-1.99GHz Band). The challenge is to design a multi-frequency antenna with reduced size, moderate gain, and high bandwidth, for wireless terminals.
